We provide free return media and return shipping so you know upfront what it costs for data recovery. Many companies charge extra to put your data on a new USB storage device so their quoted price just keeps going up. We also include free return shipping for most recoveries.
At Blizzard we use portable USB hard drives except for recoveries that have less than 50GB of data. For those smaller cases we typically provide a free Sandisk USB 2.0 Cruzer Glide. They aren’t monolithic and they are pretty sturdy. For recoveries over 50GB we use a variety of portable USB hard drives from Toshiba, Seagate, and Western Digital. For recoveries over 5TB we often use full sized external desktop hard drives from Western Digital and Seagate.
